I know of children who hates all vegetables, and some who dislike certain vegetables. I personally dislike oysters only, but okay with most vegetables if cooked.
A person with a good physical health needs a good diet. That includes meat, vegetables and fruits. Of course, the diversity of beans and milk based are also important.
When a person takes too much meat or too little fruits, that causes an imbalance, too much of certain nutrients and too little of other nutrients. This is similiar too having very strong windows but weak doors. When bacteria na dgerms attack, the immunity system may not be strong enough.
In mental cognitive, we have our preference too. We may like languages and arts, but hate technology and sciences. While we become stronger in one area, we become weaker in another.
How to be strong in cognitive? Learn to practice diversity.A bit of memory training, some comparative behaviour, some ordering and sequencing, a dash of arithmetic, language and selecting relevant frame. This is my all rounded cognitive skills.
Remembering the Special Education Week (From Susan Brigola Nygard)
No one wants to be borned in a way deformed or disordered. While we can throw away rejected machines or books, we could not hurt a life put on Earth. Lets give the people a chance.
Kids with special needs aren’t weird or odd. They only want what everyone wants to be accepted. Can I make a request? Is anyone willing to post this and leave it on your status for at least 1 hour? It is Special Education week & Autism Awareness Month, and this is in honor of all children made in a unique way. You never understand a situation until you are faced with it. ♥
I was teaching a boy about nuclear…and I stated that nuclear can be used to power up electricity in a constructive use…and nuclear can be used as a weapon to destroy in a destructive sense…
The beholder is a person with motive and intent. With guns and bullets, it can be used as protection against beasts and also potential threats,by police and soldiers. However, when wrongly used, youth who are bullied use it to harm their friends and schoolmates, and disgruntled employees used firearms to harm communities.
Teach the beholder to respect life and also find other means of anger management. Hooha..
I was just alighting near a bus stop and I saw a mum running with a toddler after a bus. It is about 40m run and the bus was at an angle where it could not see the mum and child. I asked the bus to stop and luckily the bus driver was willing to wait.
Having children is not a statistic. Our children are not numbers. I see many parents taking leave for the kids when they are sick, but when the parents are sick, they bear with it as they do not want to incur the wreath of their employers, or colleagues who are not understanding.
At nights, the parents are at home supervising homework, spelling and mathematics. I look at the education and can see the 8 inch full of study food on their plates. I am disgusted, but cannot do anything. As the education and school loads, we are pressurising the parents, force feeding the children. WHO WANNA HAVE KIDS??
I was watching news and politics. There are many references to the low childbirth of Singapore.
I believe having children is a choice. I have good and bad days with my son and daughter. While I applaud the additional funds and baby bonus, I feel that the government should look into other areas as well.
1. Employment and stability. When the parents are fighting inflation and costs of living and taking on part time jobs, they may consider very hard whether they should have extra kids.
2. Education. In Singapore, the primary education, the scope and focus and long hours means parents have to spend a lot of time tutoring and helping the kids at night to cope with daily spelling, tests and others. OUR PLATES are FULL. Please start taking things out instead of putting more in.
3. Medical and welfare. With more travelling, and with increasing warm weather, children are falling sick more often. Also, with more air-con, there is containment and greater spread of illness as viruses and germs. The 7 days childcare leave is meaningful. However, if we could extend it to secondary for 3 days will be good.
Think holistic. Children are not numbers, we need to maintain them as we maintain marriage. Let me complex the pictures by adding special needs, older age marriage and pragnancy, and lastly, sandwich generations as we take care of ageing parents.
More leave and time with kids, take out syllabus from our education system.
